This course is designed to educate and prepare you to pass the written and practical exams needed to obtain a New York State-issued natural hair care license.

To gain knowledge on the history of hair & styling, develop the skills needed to work in a professional salon environment through hands-on technical experience & class work; and lastly, prepare you to take and pass the NYS licensing exam.

Hands-On Experience

Hands On Experience

On-site salon experience supervised by a teacher with decades of hair styling expertise and teaching experience to help perfect your skills. Therefore, you will be prepared for an entry level position in a salon environment.

Natural Hair Course NYC, Inc. is licensed by the New York State Department of Education, Bureau of Proprietary School Supervision (BPSS)

Being licensed by the New York State Department of Education means Natural Hair Course NYC, Inc. is authorized to provide a natural hair course program. 

When completed, enrollees are able to apply for a New York State license to become a natural hair care professional. In order to operate on natural hair in a salon, stylists are required by law to have a Natural Hair Styling License. 

In absence of this license, stylists and salons may be subject to penalties and fines. A Natural Hair Styling License also fulfills the state requirements needed to become a professional stylist and work in any salon.
